A plastic toy, a baseball cap—an intoxicating first encounter transmutes prosaic tokens into totems in this by-the-sea ode to coincidence. Kohei Igarashi captures the spindrift intimacies of falling in love, resisting sentimentality to reach at something infinitely more sophisticated and refreshing.
