unSUB ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website unsub.tv(the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using unSUB you agree to the practices described here.
When you create an account we collect your email address, first name, and last name. Passwords are never stored in plaintext — authentication is handled by Supabase, which stores a salted hash of your password.
We store the titles you add to your watchlist, your watched/unwatched status, star ratings you assign, and the streaming platforms you mark as active subscriptions. This data exists solely to provide the core functionality of the Service.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collects standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and page views. This data is used for security and performance monitoring and is not linked to individual user accounts.
If you submit feedback via our feedback form, we collect the message content along with your name and email address if you are logged in or provide them voluntarily.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
unSUB uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.
Supabase — Authentication and database hosting
Your account credentials and app data are stored in Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
Vercel — Web hosting and edge network
The unSUB web application is hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects standard web server logs.
Watchmode API — Streaming availability and title data
We query Watchmode to fetch information about movies, TV shows, and streaming availability. No personal data is sent to Watchmode.
Resend — Transactional email delivery
We use Resend to deliver account-related emails such as email verification. Resend receives your email address for delivery purposes only.
unSUB uses cookies and browser local storage strictly to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The session cookie is set by Supabase Auth and expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging in to the Service.
We retain your account and watchlist data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see Section 7), we delete or anonymize all personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate fraud prevention purposes.
Server logs collected by Vercel are retained according to Vercel's data retention policies (typically 30 days).
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights:
Email us at nick@unsub.tv with the subject line "Privacy Request" and a description of your request. We will respond within 30 days.
To delete your account and all associated data, go to Account Settings or send a deletion request to the email above.
unSUB is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at nick@unsub.tv and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and row-level security in our database to protect your information. No system is completely secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to nick@unsub.tv.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
