Middle-aged Maura Prince (Patricia Neal) lives a lonely life caring for her debilitated mother (Pamela Brown) in a mansion. When mysterious biker Billy Jarvis (Nicholas Clay) arrives at their door looking for work as a handyman, Maura is suspicious of the strange visitor. While Billy proves himself to be kind, he has a dark secret: he's a killer. Despite learning that Billy may be involved in a series of recent murders, Maura cannot help but fall in love with him.
