About

You’ll likely enjoy this if you want a New Zealand-set mystery with a case-of-the-week structure and a darker personal thread, like Three Pines; Not for you if you need tidy endings, low swearing, or a consistently likable lead.

Pros: beautiful New Zealand scenery; episodic cases; ongoing mystery hook | Cons: uneven pacing; divisive lead behavior; abrupt unresolved threads
