When a young Dr. Amarnath and Chanda fall in love in the idyllic surroundings of a blooming Darjeeling, love, and marriage are promised, but Amarnath is unable to keep his promise. A heartbroken Chanda ends up being married off to a cripple and delivers a baby girl. Chanda slowly starts losing her grip on reality, pining for Amarnath. Left to fend for herself, Chanda’s young daughter, a cornered Kajli is molested and sold into the flesh trade.
