One by one, three teenagers, best friends since childhood, fall victim to a local heroin epidemic. When high school track star Chris saves the life of Samantha, who has overdosed, by rushing her to an emergency room, he is asked to oversee her recovery by accompanying her to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Unfortunately, their mutual friend Owen, a budding heroin user himself, pulls Samantha back into the drug's complex web. Meanwhile, Chris falls head over heels in love with Samantha and, in order to be closer to her, experiments with smack himself. The trio's violent downward spiral becomes a dramatic roller coaster ride through the boredom of new wealth and the powerful allure of the needle. Based on real events in Plano, Texas.
