New England, 1955. At stuffy Penfield Academy, a group of young women begins to discover boys, sex and romance. But are the sheltered boarding school coeds truly ready for life's most difficult lessons in what they call Our Time? Returning for her final year of high school, Abby (Pamela Sue Martin) dreams of a passionate interlude with Michael Brooks (Parker Stevenson), a student at the nearby boys' academy. Caught up in Abby's fantasy, the naïve and impressionable Muffy (Betsy Slade) mawkishly lusts after another boy's affections. But as the two girls fulfill their secret desires, one will pay the ultimate price, changing life at Penfield forever.
