La mujer de Tomás ha muerto, pero a él no le dejan enterrarla porque la familia de la difunta reclama el cuerpo en París. Tomás decide entonces robar el cuerpo para enterrarlo en Quatretondeta, un pequeño pueblo del interior de Alicante, como le había prometido a su esposa. Sin embargo, el anciano no recuerda el camino y se pierde.
