Biography

Ana Petra Costa is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and narrator, and a co-founder of the production company Busca Vida Filmes. She was nominated for an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and a BAFTA Award. Petra is internationally recognized for her hybrid, essayistic approach, in which intimate themes such as grief, memory, trauma, and identity intertwine with historical events and contemporary political tensions. She has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2018.
