Biography
Pierre François Lazare Niney is a French actor. Regarded as a French cinematic cultural icon, Niney has received numerous accolades, including a César Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the title character in the 2014 biographical film Yves Saint Laurent, as well as five additional César nominations. One of France’s most bankable stars, he starred as Edmond Dantès in the 2024 film adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo, which became one of France’s biggest box-office successes of all time, attracting 9.4 million admissions in the country. The film’s success further cemented Niney as one of the most prominent French public figures of his generation.
