Biography

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, known mononymously as Neymar, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a forward for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Santos which he captains. A goalscorer and playmaker, he is known for his dribbling, technical ability, agility, passing, and finishing. Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Neymar is both the all-time top goalscorer (80) and assist provider (59) for the Brazil national team. He was recognised by Opta Sports as one of the top two players in Europe for five consecutive seasons from 2015–16 to 2019–20, ranking as the best player in 2016–17 and 2017–18. He finished third in the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Ballon d'Or. He is one of the few players to have scored over 100 goals with three clubs.
