Biography
Vance DeBar Colvig Jr. was an American character actor, voice actor, and writer best known for being the first actor to portray Bozo the Clown on a franchised television program. He also voiced Chopper the bulldog on The Yogi Bear Show. He was the son of Pinto Colvig, the original voice of Disney's Goofy and the first-ever performer of Bozo the Clown on records. In the 1980s, he became a familiar face making live-action guest appearances as a character actor on hits like The Golden Girls, Night Court, Hill Street Blues, and St. Elsewhere. One of his most memorable late-career film cameos was playing a transient alongside "Weird Al" Yankovic in the 1989 cult comedy film UHF.
