Biography
Andrew Clay Silverstein, known professionally as Andrew Dice Clay, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s through "The Diceman", a leather-jacketed, hypermasculine stage persona whose profane nursery rhymes and routines about sex, gender, and ethnicity attracted both a large audience and widespread criticism. Contemporary critics and advocacy groups frequently described the material as misogynistic and homophobic; Clay maintained that the character was an exaggerated performance distinct from his private personality.
