Biography
Adam Copeland is a Canadian professional wrestler and actor currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He previously competed in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) for more than two decades under the ring name Edge, becoming one of the most decorated and influential performers in company history. After making his professional wrestling debut in 1992, Copeland spent several years on the independent circuit, competing in both singles and tag team competition, most notably alongside his longtime friend Christian Cage. Copeland signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1997 and debuted on television as Edge in 1998. Following an Intercontinental Championship win in 1999, he reunited with Christian to form one of the most successful tag teams of their era. Together, they won the World Tag Team Championship seven times and became closely associated with the rise of Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. Transitioning into singles competition in 2001, Copeland established himself as a main-event star and went on to win 31 championships in WWE, including seven World Heavyweight Championships and four WWE Championships. He also became WWE’s 14th Triple Crown Champion and seventh Grand Slam Champion, while achieving the rare distinction of winning King of the Ring, Money in the Bank, and the Royal Rumble. Due to severe neck injuries, Copeland retired from in-ring competition in 2011 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the following year. He returned to wrestling in 2020 and remained an active top-level performer until departing WWE in 2023. Copeland debuted for AEW in October 2023, where he renewed both his rivalry and alliance with Christian Cage. During his time in AEW, he won the TNT Championship twice before capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside Christian Cage in May 2026. Outside of wrestling, Copeland has held recurring television roles on Haven (2011–2015), Vikings (2017–2020), and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023–present), while also appearing on The Flash (2015), Private Eyes (2016), and Sanctuary (2011). In 2015, he received a Golden Maple Award nomination for his performance as Dwight Hendrickson in Haven.
