Based on the classic novel by William Thackeray, `Vanity Fair' is a period drama following Miss Rebecca Sharpe as she attempts to rid herself of her impoverished life and defy her peers' obsession with social standing. As Thackeray writes, Becky wants what is simply not worth having as she embarks on a journey of manipulation, betrayal, and forbidden romances. Striving to get above her station, Becky has little regard for the consequences of her actions as she charms her way through the high society of 19th century Britain.
