Vers où Israël ?

2012 · Movie · 123 min

Documentary

With this film, Camille Clavel embarks on both a personal and a universal quest: while traveling to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem to inscribe the name of his great-grandmother who died in a death camp, Clavel also tests the memory of they who live on this disputed land, and their ability to live together in one or two States. The filmmaker interviews a considerable number of observers, most notably the historian Shlomo Sand, author of "The Invention of the Jewish People" (Verso Books, 2009); historian Gadi Algazi; writer Aharon Appelfeld; as well as a cross-section of Israelis, both Jewish and Palestinian, who describe their vision of this State and its future.
