Belgium’s Africa Museum was created by King Leopold II to glorify his ‘civilising mission’ in the Belgian Congo, in reality a brutal and ruthless colonisation. As the museum recently underwent a major overhaul this documentary looks at how it shaped negative European attitudes towards Africa and how the newly renovated museum can challenge the dark colonial past.
