Biography
Mamoru Kanbe is a Japanese anime director and storyboard artist known for his work on various television series and films. He began his career in the animation industry in the early 1980s, contributing to notable projects such as Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) as a production assistant. Kanbe has directed episodes for series including Elfen Lied (2004) and The Promised Neverland (2019). His directorial debut came with Elfen Lied, where he served as the series director. Kanbe's work is characterized by dynamic storytelling and a strong visual style.
