
Biography
Elena Ruiz Guitart (born in Cardona) is a Catalan film editor, associated with the production company Escándalo Films. A graduate of ESCAC, she began as a film editor in 2000 with several short films such as Presas (2000), Los perros de Pavlov (2003), and Mola ser malo (2005). In 2006, she made her feature film debut with Moscow Zero by María Lidón, but recognition came the following year for her work on The Orphanage by Juan Antonio Bayona, for which she received the award for best editing at the 6th Barcelona Film Awards and the CEC Medal for best editing, and was nominated for a Goya Award.
